Flexible printed lights Provide multiple health benefits

LED lights have been used in medical devices both in consumer and clinical applications for years. But with the product development and adoption by NthDegree’s clients Colgate Palmolive and CareWear, printed LEDs add a new dimension to the medical and healthcare market.

Providing thin, flexible and lightweight material, NthDegree’s Nth-Light technology creates a new avenue to deliver light for therapeutic and cosmetic purposes. The quantity of LEDs printed per device also offers a homogeneous spread of the light for even distribution on the area of interest. In direct contrast to standard LEDs which are bulkier and create “hotspots” in treatment areas for uneven coverage.

NthDegree offers multiple wavelengths of light which include near UV 410nm (violet), standard blue 450nm, green 530nm and most recently red 630nm. The wide variety of potential uses with the range of nominal wavelengths offers many different new and exciting opportunities in the photobiomodulation field. Simply put, the printed LED delivery system for medical and cosmetic devices has a proven track record of effective deployment and success.
